Every experience is a footpath towards the next big adventure. Decades of life experience, career opportunities, successes and failures, have given me an especially fierce appreciation and love for the theater community and what it brings to society. With Black Lives Matter, the Me Too Movement, and then the strange and reflective time of the Covid shutdown, now seems the perfect time to provide a platform to spotlight diverse perspectives and social justice issues we all embrace as humans. OUR MISSION
MISSION STATEMENT: To present great theater that bridges understanding between people, aiming to lift all voices, celebrate diversity, and affect positive change. We seek to promote the works of local artists, with paid opportunities and visibility for their ideas and creative expression. Lionwoman Productions TX is honored to partner with our 501c3 fiscal sponsor, DRIVEN THEATER COMPANY, as well as Kaleidoscope Theatre, in New York City. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Our inaugural production is the astounding comedy, PLAYHOUSE CREATURES, about five real-world actresses who worked in London
during the Restoration (when women were first allowed to appear on stage). This brilliant play, written by British playwright, April De Angelis,
is performed regularly "across the pond" including a recent production
at the New Vic Theatre, but has never been produced professionally in Texas, until now.
LIONWOMAN PRODUCTIONS TX SEEKING DESIGNERS
FOR THE REGIONAL PREMIERE OF PLAYHOUSE CREATURES
Hello Set, Costume, Sound and Lighting designers. We are seeking the design team for our inaugural stage production
of the brilliant dramedy, Playhouse Creatures, by playwright and two-time Susan Smith Blackburn finalist, April De Angelis! This will be a regional premiere of a professional production in Texas.

The play is centered around the lives of five, real-world actresses, who lived during the Restoration in London, and were part of the first group of women to be allowed to work on the London stage. Production dates are: November 2 - 23, 2024, and shows will be held at MATCH One, Houston, TX. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.

AUDITIONS for the regional premiere of Playhouse Creatures, by English playwright (and two-time, Susan Smith Blackburn finalist), April De Angelis, to be held as follows:

SAT, Jun 1 (1 – 4pm)

MON, Jun 3 (7 – 10pm)
LOCATION: MATCH, 3400 Main St. (Rehearsal Rm One). Appts required for gate access.

ROLES AVAILABLE: Casting five roles (three supporting and two swing, looking to play ages 20’s – 60’s). All female cast. Diversity welcome. English accent helpful (but not required). Facility with classical language helpful. All positions paid.
PRODUCTION DATES: November 2 – 23, 2024.
